An Australian Chinese tea ceremony.

More shots from the Australian wedding. Spanish girl and Australian chinese boy tea ceremony. Enjoy!

A Multicultural Ceremony

Hey all, during my visit to Australia for the wedding, I was informed that the Spanish Bride was trying her take at the traditional chinese "chi mui" ceremony. "Chi mui" in the chinese language means close sisters or also bridesmaid(s). The ceremony goes where a group of chosen "chi mui's" will help the bride with the preparations of the wedding in the morning. Normally they will come up with games and trivia for the groom and his entourage before they arrive at the house of the bride to collect her. Sometimes they will make the groom or anyone of his entourage members eat sandwich filled wasabi or even do push ups, and give red packets with money and do all sorts of things just to make sure that the groom is willing enough to go through the hassle and show his love to his blushing bride before the chi mui's decide that they are ready to give up the bride to the groom.

It was fun to see a Spanish girl take on a very traditional chinese ceremony with open heart and mind. These are the pictures from the chi mui ceremony.
